How Are YOU Programmed?

In network marketing (and I also believe in life in general) it is said only the top 3-5% are successful. Why is this? What is going on with the other 95-97% of people? After all, everyone most surely desires success and good health.

Why do people suffer business failure after business failure?
Why do people suffer illness after illlness?
How is it some people have story after story of the bad things which have happened to them?
How many people slave away at jobs which give them little or no satisfaction? (And why would anyone spend their life like that?)

I'm not going to talk about illness in this blogpost go here for that discussion: Are You Thinking Yourself Sick? But let's discuss what is going on with folks in the rest of their life.

People don't realize they have the power to change their life. Very simply, people fall into victimhood and lack manifestation because they don't realize how they have been programmed to manifest lack and failure.

You must realize when you were a child seemingly insignificant comments from your parents and teachers programmed you to think a certain way.
Your church programmed you to think a certain way.
The people you hang around with influence you to have a certain mindset.
The hours and hours of television you have watched programmed you to have a certain mindset. Consider how many television commercials you are inundated with during an evening of television; commercials which are designed to persuade you to think a certain way and/or take certain actions. Sitcoms and movies also come with subliminal messages.

For instance, think about the tv sitcom Two and A Half Men. Two and a Half Men utilizes a basic script commonly found in both sitcoms and movies. Here we have two brothers, one rich and successful, the other divorced and needing help from his brother. The rich brother is portrayed as rich but a jerk. The poor brother is portrayed as a nice guy down on his luck but a good person. We all feel sorry for the poorer brother; but logically should we? The rich brother is rich due to the good choices he made. The poorer brother is in the situation he is in due to the bad choices he made. But as you watch the show I would wager most of just feel bad for the poorer brother without considering the choices he made. We think the older brother is a jerk despite the fact he's putting a roof over his brothers head. Consider other sitcoms and movies and you will discover rich people are portrayed as bad and poor people as good in most of them. Does this portrayal program you with a "I want to be successful" mindset? Heck no, you don't want to be a jerk.

In all your failures who was always there? You. You made choices. Why did you make the choices you made? Because you were programmed to have a certain mindset. Television programs and commercials, seemingly insignificant comments your parents and teachers made when you were little and the input of the comments of the people with which you socialize all give you a certain mindset and also, impact your self-esteem.

In every day you have thousands upon thousands of thoughts. You can choose to have those thoughts programmed by others or program them yourself.

You can choose to think "I am not worthy" or "Rich is bad" or you can choose to think "I am worthy" and "Rich is a means to do good". You can choose to block "I can't" from your thoughts. Similarly you can banish the word "try" from your thoughts. "Trying" opens up avenues for excuses and relegates you to a life of victimhood. Replace "trying" with "doing".

YOU have the power to change your life because you have the power to change your thoughts!

1. Stop watching the news.
2. When a negative thought enters your mind replace it with a positive one.
3. Carry an index card with several affirmations written on it. Read them several times per day.
4. You can't live with the energy to think well if you don't give your body the nutrients it needs. Overhaul your healthstyle. Give your body whole foods with the enzymes, vitamins, minerals it needs to optimally thrive. You will be amazed at the energy and well-being you experience!
5. Read at least one personal development book a month. Set aside time each day to nurture your personal development.

In short, YOU program your thoughts!

Passion and Focus

As I was driving along this morning taking my car in to be serviced I passed a company called YKiKi Divers. Yup, a diving company in the middle of Missouri. On the way to the car dealers I pass many little businesses. Most of them I am familiar with as they’ve been around for a long time. But even knowing they’ve been around a long time I wondered, “how do they survive?” (especially that diving business).

The answer is simple. These little businesses are operated by people who LOVE what they do. They are focused on their passion. Success and passion go hand in hand.

So are you one of these people who joins every internet marketing program that comes along? Or are you focused on a single passion?

If you’re a “program joiner”, ask yourself how much money you have spent and how much have you made? Be honest with yourself. Who is it who is being successful by your business actions? You or the people running those programs you join.

While you’re at it…… consider, what is success? How do you define success?

I’ll tell you my definition. Success is freedom; it's not having to do what you don’t want to do. You can have that life if you focus on your passion. Do one thing and do it well.
